What StemHaus does, and what's coming
StemHaus is in a closed beta. In the app today means it works in the app we are testing today. Coming means it is planned and not built yet.
Versions you can trust
Every push is kept, and nothing is replaced behind your back.
Every push is a version
Push saves everything in your project folder as a new version, with an optional note about what changed. The history shows who pushed what and when, and which version is on your computer.
Two people, one project, nothing lost
If someone pushed since you last pulled, your push is saved on a branch of its own instead of replacing theirs. Both versions are kept.
Pulls never overwrite your edits
Pulling brings your folder up to date. A file you changed here is left alone, and if the same file changed in both places StemHaus stops and lists it instead of choosing for you.
Go back to an earlier version
You can browse what any version contained today. Pulling an older version back into your folder is next.
Sync that handles big sessions
Built for projects with gigabytes of audio, not just a project file.
Only what changed uploads
StemHaus splits files into pieces and uploads only the ones it hasn't stored yet. A big project and its samples upload once; after that, a push sends just what changed.
No plugin installers, ever
Executables, installers and plugin files such as .vst3, .component and .dll are never uploaded. StemHaus lists the plugins a project uses, so a collaborator knows what to have installed.
Downloads are checked
If a downloaded piece arrives damaged, nothing in your folder is changed, and you are told so.
Sync in the background
Run from the system tray and notice when you save, so a push is one click away.
Know what's in a project
StemHaus reads the project file itself, so a collaborator can see what they are about to open.
See what's inside
Each version shows its tempo, tracks, plugins and samples for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Reaper. Sample names are shown, never the folders on your computer.
Studio One, Logic Pro, Cubase and Pro Tools
Reading these projects is planned. Syncing any project folder already works whatever the DAW.
Plugin check before you open
See which plugins a project needs that you don't have installed yet.
Open in your DAW
Open a pulled project in your DAW straight from StemHaus.
Listen without opening a DAW
A bounce says more than a project file, and it plays anywhere.
Previews with a waveform
Attach a WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, M4A or AIFF file of up to 150 MiB, and play it in the app or in your browser. Previews don't count against your storage.
Share a listening link
Send anyone a link to play the preview, with no account needed.
Comments at a point in the track
Leave a note on the exact second you mean, on the version you are listening to.
Work together
The point of all this is a collaborator opening what you made.
See who's in a project
In the desktop app, collaborators who are online in a project show at the top of it. When someone pushes, you get a prompt to pull the update without refreshing anything.
Invite collaborators
Invite people to a project by email, as editors or viewers. People on a free plan can join projects owned by a paid one.
Heads-up locks
Mark a project as being worked on, so two people don't edit the same session by accident.
Everywhere you work
On your computer, in your browser, and stored close to home.
Windows and macOS
A desktop app for Windows (x64 and ARM) and macOS, which does the syncing.
A web companion
Browse your projects, play previews and manage your account from any browser. Syncing stays in the desktop app.
Stored in the EU
Your project files are kept in EU storage, and your account details in a database in Frankfurt.
